Kit Harington (“Silent Hill: Revelation 3D,” “Game of Thrones”) has scored the lead role in Paul W.S. Anderson’s period disaster epic “Pompeii” at Constantin Film and Lionsgate/Summit.
Harington will play a shipping tycoon’s slave who wants to marry his master’s daughter. The trouble is he’s been sold to a different owner in Naples, while the daughter has already been promised to a corrupt Roman senator.
Soon after Mt. Vesuvius erupts, prompting him to head back to Pompeii to rescue his love and his gladiator friend trapped in the city’s coliseum.
Lee Batchler, Janet Scott Batchler and Julian Fellowes penned the script while Anderson, Jeremy Bolt, Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz will produce.
