McAvoy, Chastain Join “Eleanor Rigby”

James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain are set to star in the dual-film project “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” at Myriad Pictures says Variety.

Ned Benson writes and directs the story of a New York restaurant owner and his wife, who goes back to college. The twist is the story will be played out across two feature-length movies — one from the husband’s perspective, one from the wife’s.

Each film will be stand-alone though watching them both will give better insight into their relationship. Earlier this year Joel Edgerton was attached to the male lead role, it looks like McAvoy has replaced him.

Ned Benson penned the scripts and will direct both films with shooting to kick off in July. Cassandra Kulukundis is producing.
