Records Begin Shattering For “Harry Potter”

It hits the U.S. tonight but already the new and final entry in the Potter franchise, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2”, has opened in various international territories and is doing massive business says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film grossed $ 43.6 million on Wednesday alone from 26 countries – a figure which puts it 82% ahead of ‘Deathly Hallows Part 1’ and 49% ahead of ‘Half-Blood Prince’ at the same point in said territories.

In Australia the film took in USD $ 7.6 million (including midnight sneaks) – making it the biggest opening day of all time for any film. A similar situation happened in various countries across Europe.

Meanwhile within the U.S., Warner Bros. revealed yesterday the movie had already racked up $ 32 million in advance domestic ticket sales – $ 13 million for the midnight sessions alone.

Reviews wise the film is already scoring an astounding 97% and an 8.4/10 on Rotten Tomatoes along with an 87/100 on Metacritic, making it easily the best reviewed wide release film of the year so far.
