Strong To Pen “Lost Symbol” Adaptation

Danny Strong (“Recount”) has been hired pen the newest draft of the adaptation of Dan Brown’s third Robert Langdon book “The Lost Symbol” for Sony Pictures reports Deadline.

The story is set around Washington DC where the head of the Smithsonian Institute has been kidnapped and Langdon gets mixed up in a tale blending the Freemasons, Noetic Science and a killer tattooed from head to toe.

Mark Romanek (“Never Let Me Go”) looks likely to remain onboard as director, replacing Ron Howard who helmed the first two feature adaptations “The Da Vinci Code” and “Angels and Demons”. Howard and Brian Grazer are expected to produce

Strong marks at least the third writer onboard following Steven Knight and Brown himself. Tom Hanks is expected to reprise the role of Langdon but no commitment has yet been made.
