No major surprise here. “The Hobbit: There and Back Again”, the third and final film in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” trilogy, has been pushed back five months.
Originally slated for a July 18th 2014 release, Warners has moved the film back to a December 17th 2014 release – meaning this trilogy will match the original “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy with annual Christmas releases.
The next film in the saga, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”, is currently targeting a December 13th 2013 release.
Additional filming for the third film, slated to commence shortly in New Zealand, is expected to stay on schedule.
