Oscar-winning scribe Michael Arndt (“Little Miss Sunshine,” “Toy Story 3”) is in talks to perform re-writes on the script for ‘Hunger Games’ sequel “Catching Fire” at Lionsgate reports Heat Vision.
“Slumdog Millionaire” scribe Simon Beaufoy signed on to adapt the Suzanne Collins novel a while back when Gary Ross was attached to direct. Now with Francis Lawrence replacing Ross, a new script is being commissioned.
Arndt will need to work fast – the production is rushing to be ready for an August start of shooting.
