David Yates and Steve Kloves, the director and script writer of the last three “Harry Potter” films, look to be re-teaming on the film
adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand” at Warner Bros. and Vertigo Pictures says Hitfix
The novel, first published in 1978 and revised in 1990, is a story of good vs. evil after a virus wipes out most of the American population. The survivors end up fighting the Antichrist-like Randall Flagg.
First announced back in February, Yates first came to mention as a possible director last month. The news of Kloves’ involvement is new and both are said to be finalizing deals for the multi-film adaptation which is becoming a high priority project for the studio.
