Universal is finalising a deal to pick up the sci-fi spec project “Agent 13” which has Charlize Theron attached to star and “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” helmer Rupert Wyatt set to direct reports Heat Vision.
T.S. Nowlin penned the pitch, apparently based on a little known trilogy of novels and comics from the 80’s which themselves are reminiscent of popular 1930s pulp stories. In the comic ‘Agent 13’ is a man and that will remain, Theron plays a different role.
There’s no word if this is an original adventure featuring the characters, or an adaptation of one of the three stories – “The Invisible Empire,” “The Serpentine Assassin” or “Acolytes of Darkness”. Theron and Sean Daniels are producing.
