DreamWorks have announced that special word-of-mouth screenings of Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” will be held this coming Sunday, November 27th in ten U.S. cities.
The key screening will take place in New York City, to be followed by a Q&A with Spielberg himself. Said session will be beamed via satellite to the other nine screenings, as well as streaming live on MSN.com.
The sneak preview is being utilised to generate word-of-mouth a month ahead of the official Christmas Day release.
Fox is using a similar albeit wider approach the day before with Cameron Crowe’s “We Bought a Zoo” screening in several hundred cinemas on Saturday November 26th ahead of the general release on December 23rd.
