North Okanagan RCMP are investigating a hang gliding accident just outside of Lumby, that has left a 38-year-old man in hospital in critical condition.
Police got the call to a field on Mabel Lake road at 2pm yesterday.
Witnesses have told them the man was approaching for a landing when the glider stalled, one wing hit the ground, and then the aircraft cart-wheeled, sending the man into the ground with full force.
He’s a resident of Hope and is described as a reasonably experienced pilot.
