Anaesthesiologists meet and discuss withdrawing services

At a public forum Monday evening, BC anaesthesiologists suggested withdrawing services is still on the table, if the BC Medical Association and the Provincial Government don’t let them in on conciliation talks.

The Court action filed by the Government against BC’s anaesthesiologists is adjourned, but Doctor Jeff Rains of the BC Anaesthesiologists society says withdrawing services is still an option, “There’s no reason for us to withdraw services at this point. Now, that may change if for some reason we’re unable to get into that process, or if the other parties in that find some way of running away from that process.”

While the Court case the Government has filed against BC’s anaesthesiologists has been adjourned indefinitely, it could resume at any time with two days notice.
