Another high profile Liberal not running next year

Another big name Liberal says he’s not going to run in the next BC election.

Transportation Minister Blair Lekstrom says after nearly 20 years in elected office, it’s time to move on–he won’t seek re-election next May.

Lekstrom was one of the few “big names” left in the Christy Clark cabinet.

Lekstrom says it’s been an honour to serve the people of Peace River South.

He thanks Premier Clark for her support, but says he wants to purse some new opportunities.

Lekstrom made perhaps his biggest splash when he broke from the party over his opposition to the HST.
