Booze in BC Theaters

The BC government is making it easier for movie theaters to serve alcohol, but only if no minors are present.

The minister responsible Rich Coleman says movie and live event theatres in BC can now apply for a license to serve alcohol during the screening of a film, for multiplex theatres that could include booze in adult-only auditoriums and adjacent lobbies….for single screen movie and live event theatres, booze could be served in a lobby where minors are present, or in adult only auditoriums.

But for any movies or shows where minors are present, no alcohol can be served because darkness makes it difficult to keep liquor out of their hands.

About 30 live event and 100 movie theatres are eligible to apply for the changes.
