Burnaby man charged in transit pass theft

A Burnaby man has been charged with stealing 25-thousand dollars worth of Translink monthly fare passes.

Transit Police say from August to November, there were seven thefts at large grocery stores, convenience stores, and a pharmacy in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and Surrey.

Now charged with theft over 5000-dollars is 44-year-old George Edward McFadyen.

He’s been released on conditions that include a “no-go” order for any Safeway, 7-11, or Shoppper’s Drug Mart stores.
