Busy week at BC Legislature

Politicians in Victoria have a lot of work to get done by the end of this week.

The spring session of the legislature ends on Thursday, and there are still 19 bills left to debate.

Liberal house leader Rich Coleman admits he may have to use closure to force some bills through.

“There is a possibility but I won’t know until about 24 hours from now, we’ll watch how the business goes in the two houses today and how things proceed and then I’ll have a pretty good sense of it by tomorrow morning, I met with my counterpart this morning, walked through the schedule of legislation with John Horgan and I told him I’d sit down with him tomorrow and let him know.”

NDP house leader John Horgan says the liberals have “botched” the session by introducing a lot of complex bills late in the spring, leaving little time for proper debate.
