Charter bus company saying little after Oregon crash

They have yet to publicly comment after one of their buses crashed off a highway in Oregon last weekend and killed nine people.

But now, a letter, on behalf of the Coquitlam company involved.

Calls to Mi Joo Travel go to a voicemail message that provides few details after Sunday’s crash.

“If you have an urgent matter, please contact … mijoo@gmail.com. thank you.”

But a note is posted on the door of its Vancouver office on Seymour Street.

In part, it reads, “on behalf of Mi Joo Tour, we share in the tremendous grief experienced by all of the survivors and families of the people involved in this terrible tragedy. …
“We are focused on assisting and supporting the survivors and families.
“No further comment at this time.”

It is signed by a lawyer from an American firm.

According to a business licence, Mi Joo is owned by an Ik-Kyu or Edward Kang.

Calls to a home listed under that name have not been returned.

Several survivors of the crash, which happened as a the bus was returning from Las Vegas to Vancouver, are being driven back to BC later this afternoon.
