Cop hit by rock, car, still helps make arrest

A Vancouver Police officer is recovering at home after getting hit by a car and fighting with a suspect.

Police were called yesterday afternoon to an alleged assault at Stanley Park.

The first cop to arrive chased after the man believed to have been involved, and as they were running down Alberni Street, the officer was hit by a car.

He got up, managed to catch up to the suspect, and the two got into a fight, with the officer getting hit in the head with a rock.
Backup arrived shortly and the man was arrested.

A 34-year-old man is now facing several charges, and police are looking for the driver of the car.
