Police on Vancouver Island are reporting progress finding secret marijuana grow-ops. The joint team, consisting of the RCMP, Canadian Forces, Victoria Police and Saanich Police, uses helicopters to scope out illegal farms in areas not visible from roads. In past years, they have destroyed as many as 30, 000 plants, but this year the numbers dropped to approximately 7, 300.
