Court documents reveal lots of money missing after Edmonton heist

Court paperwork unsealed today says there might be a large chunk of missing money out there after the June 15th killing of three armoured car guards in Edmonton.

Travis Baumgartner was arrested late the next day trying to cross into the United States in Sumas.

He was then taken back to Edmonton to face charges.

The contents of a search warrant for Baumgartners home show police are looking for between $ 600,000 and $ 1.9 million.

Baumgartner’s mother found about $ 64,000 on her kitchen table the morning after the shootings, which took place on the University of Alberta campus.

And Baumgartner had just over $ 300,000 with him when he was arrested.

The paperwork was unsealed after the Edmonton Journal won a legal battle over the documents.

A fourth guard was also badly wounded in the shooting but is recovering.
