Teachers hoping the Labour Relations Board will quickly step in to remove a government-appointed meditator in their contract dispute are out of luck.
Officials with the LRB have now confirmed written submissions will be reviewed next week, but no timeline has been set for a ruling.
Last week, the BC Teachers Federation asked the board to intervene, claiming Charles Jago is biased in favour of the provincial government and he refused to voluntarily step down.
Union leaders say he admitted to helping draft bill 22, new legislation now being challenged by the BCTF in court.
Jago and education minister George Abbott insist there’s no conflict of interest, but they’re not denying he helped the government write bill 22.
