Fatal freight train incident causes West Coast Express delays

A fatal train incident delayed West Coast Express trains by 20 minutes this morning.

CP Rail’s Ed Greenburg says a freight train struck and killed a middle-aged woman who was on the tracks between Maple Ridge and Haney at 4:30 a.m.

“An investigation is being conducted to determine what led the person to being on the tracks.”

West Coast Express says extra shuttles are in service between Port Haney and Maple Meadows.
