Flood threat easing slightly but still not out of the danger zone

The flood situation is easing but were still not out of the woods yet according to the latest update from the River Forecast Centre.

Forecaster Dave Campbell says river levels are dropping and creating more space for another pulse which will arrive this weekend.

“At this point we are expecting a lower amount of water to come in than we were forecasting yesterday. Our current estimate for this pulse of water is to see the lower fraser at Hope to reach about 11, 800 cubic metres per second or so by the latter part of this week, so Friday, Saturday or Sunday.”

Campbell says weather is still playing a key role and rains could still cause unexpected events.

hundreds of people across the province remain out of their homes after being evacuated.
