Home of Mountie sex photo tipster raided, computers seized

Weeks after helping disgruntled Mounties post an online blog, a man whose home was raided by police is going public.

He wants to remain anonymous, but says the August 18th raid had everything to do with his involvement in exposing a Coquitlam mountie, seen in sexual fetish photos posted online.

The man says he learned about Corporal Jim Brown’s sexual escapades from a woman who met Brown online.

And after seeing the online material, the man gave the sexually explicit photos to a friend in the RCMP.

Although he handed this information over to authorities early this year, it took months for a search warrant to be executed on his home – only after he helped put up the “Re-sergeance Alliance” blog.

The warrant used to search his home and seize computers was under a rarely used section of the criminal code for “defamatory libel.”

Mounties say the search has nothing to do with the blog, but would not comment on whether it was connected to the Brown investigation.

An RCMP code of conduct investigation of Jim Brown is currently underway.
