A 180-day environmental assessment of a proposal for a jet fuel pipeline connecting Vancouver International Airport with south Richmond has still not resumed.
The review was put on hold earlier this year after Environment Canada requested further studies be done.
A spokesman for the Vancouver Airport Fuel Facilities Corporation says those studies are finished and have been submitted to the BC Environmental Assessment Office.
Carol Day is with VAPOR, a group staunchly opposed to the plan. She says the group doesn’t have much faith in the BCEAO process, “We don’t understand how a 180 day process can take over 500 days and still be nowhere further than it was a year-and-a-half ago.”
It’s up to the Environmental Assessment Office as to when the review will resume.
