Whistler mounties are investigating the discovery of human remains.
Police don’t suspect foul play.
RCMP Staff Sergeant Steve Leclair says two hikers came across the remains in a wooded area east of Highway 99 — in the Alpine Meadows area.
Leclair says it’s too early to speculate over identity, cause of death or other circumstances.
“There’s a certain level of decomposition that prevents us from being able to identify who they are, or in-fact what the gender is or race… certainly they’ve been there for some time.”
The remains were found not too far from a school in the area.
More information will likely be revealed in the coming days.
