MLA: Heckling is a tradition in the Legislature

Kamloops-South-Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger is making no apologies for heckling Independent MLA Vicki Huntington in the Legislature last week, even though it nearly saw him ejected from the chamber.

Krueger told reporters Monday heckling is an accepted tradition in the Legislature.

“I’m just asking, is that the kind of behaviour you think your constituents want to see from you in the Legislature?”

“Hey, I think it’s rude to ask a guy questions and chew gum in his face while you’re interviewing him, right? I mean people have different ways of looking at things. I told ya, I didn’t think I’d ever be a heckler, but it is a part of the process.”

Krueger says he’s justified in heckling Huntington and the NDP because they do nothing but offer criticism instead of solutions.
