Most farmers are hard-pressed without this sort of thing

A large farming operation in Saanich has gone up in flames.
 
Fire struck a storage building on Vantreight Farms about 7 pm. Flames and thick black smoke could be seen for miles.

The owner says the building held plastic bins and pallets.

60 fire fighters from 3 different departments took an hour to control the blaze.

Owners say damage is in the 100’s of thousands of dollars. They lost considerable inventory and material to the flames.

No injuries have been reported.

An investigation will be held.
