NDP Energy Critic John Horgan is demanding a little clarity on the smart meter front.
He says a recent opinion piece by minister responsible Rich Coleman seems to say “if you don’t want one, you don’t have to have one.”
“I think what we need is clarity on what the official position of BC Hydro is in this new environment. If there is an opt out provision, which was suggested by another Liberal, Mr Gordan Hogg yesterday, if there is an opt out provision, let’s see it. It’s got to be in writing somewhere and to this point in time I haven’t had anyone fulfill that request”
Coleman’s been feeling the heat after making direct calls to councillors who ultimately rejected a massive new casino complex in Surrey.
He’s been keeping a very low profile and not speaking to either issue.
Horgan was speaking with CKNW’s Jon McComb on The World Today.
