North Shore Rescue deals with missing dog, unresponsive skier

A busy day for North Shore Rescue.

Crews had spent two days looking for a Bermese Mountain Dog who ran away from his snow-shoeing owner two weeks ago on Mount Seymuor.

They’ve managed to pulled Ohly out of a gully and transport him safely back down by helicopter.

Crews were then called to Hollyburn Mountain, where a young male skier had gone into cardiac arrest.

Search leader Tim Jones says the man, believed to be in his 20s, was long-lined out.

“And that person has been brought down to Capilano Watershed where BC Ambulance and one of our emergency physicians are now trying to resuscitate him.”
