Oppal admits to conversation with Hells Angel

The head of the Missing Women Inquiry admits to having a ‘casual conversation’ with a full patch Hells Angel.

But Wally Oppal says it was completely by accident.

“I was at a concert two weeks ago, and a women in the next suite where I was a guest, asked if she could have a photo taken with me. I said ‘sure,’ I had no idea who she was. And a man in the suite then came over and shook my hand, and again, I had no idea who he was.  It turns out he was a member of the Hells Angels.  As soon as I learned that I backed off.”

Oppal says Vancouver Police gang squad officers then had a chat with him.

“[They] said, ‘do you realize that that was a member of the Hells Angels?’ So, I thanked them and they were friendly and said, ‘we just wanted to tell you that.’  I said, ‘I had no idea.’  You know, I meet a lot of people.”

He adds even though the exchange was “of no substance,” it was necessary to make public.
