Parents complain of rodent infestation at Surrey school

A group of Surrey parents is going public with concerns over an apparent rodent infestation at their kids’ school.
It’s happening at Mountainview Montessori Elementary, a school mostly made up of modular buildings.
Parent Adriana Calandra says it’s been issue since last November.

“Now they’re actually getting a little more aggressive where they’re in the classrooms during the day as well, where they’ve been spotted by students and teachers. Now there’s one class where the kids can’t even sit on the carpet, they have to stand up during story time.”

A spokesperson for the Surrey School District says pest control has spent two or three days a week at the school since spring break.
That doesn’t comfort Calandra though – in fact she claims the problem has spread to nearby Johnston Heights Secondary.
