Recovery efforts will continue at Johnsons Landing

Recovery efforts at the site of the Johnsons Landing mudslide will resume.

Using heavy excavation machinery, crews will spend another two days working in the area of the Webber family home.

The bodies of 60-year-old Valentine Webber and his 22-year-old daughter Diana were recovered near that home last week.

Officials believe they may be able to find the body of 17-year-old Rachel Webber.

But they don’t think there is a chance of finding the body of 64-year-old Petra Frehse, because her home was higher up the mountain, and suffered a more severe impact from the slide.
