Road Rage in Burnaby

Burnaby RCMP are asking for public help in finding more witnesses to a road rage incident that sent an elderly man to hospital.

Police say the assault took place at 8:30 last night near the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Gilmore Avenue.

The driver of a silver Toyota Echo was tailgating a beige sedan and continously honking his horn.

Just south of Dawson Street, the driver of the sedan pulled over and stopped.

The driver of the Echo pulled in behind, got out, punched the victim several times, and then fled.

Several witnesses came to the aid of the old man and called police.

He was treated at hospital for minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The assailant is described as Caucasian, in his late 40’s or early 50’s, has grey hair, a slim build and was wearing blue jeans and a light coloured shirt.
