Sex magazine’s editor says man seen in violent cage photos not a Mountie

The editor of Erotica Vancouver magazine says a Coquitlam Mountie at the centre of a sex photo scandal is not the same man seen in violent, torture pictures released Thursday.

“When i first saw the pictures, i thought to myself…wow, its uncanny the resemblence Corporal [Jim] Brown has to someone i know,” says Reive Doig.

And sure enough, Doig says it turns out the man in photos holding a knife to a woman’s throat, and later seen holding a knife to a caged woman, is someone other than Corporal Jim Brown.

Doig says he has spoken with the couple in those photos, and they are mortified.

“The individual i spoke to stressed to me those were not designed to be erotica or porn,” says Doig.

Rather they were supposed to be artistic, or “designed to shock.”

Still, Brown is seen in many photos posted on a fetish website, wearing his RCMP boots and a kilt, in many compromising positions.

It is something Doig calls a stupid decision, especially considering his job.
