Southlands developer plans tower for heart of Surrey

The developer behind the controversial Southlands project in Delta has unveiled plans for a 50-storey tower in the heart of Surrey.

Century Group’s 3 Civic Plaza will include 330 residential units and 160 hotel suites.

The development is part of the city’s plan to build a vibrant downtown core in the neighbourhood formerly known as Whalley, now rebranded as Central City.

Construction, at 103 Avenue and University Drive, will begin next year with completion set for 2015.

The area is already home to Surrey’s new library and will soon be the site of a new city hall.
