Striking Chilliwack teachers changed venues today forcing the Premier to make changes of her own.

Striking Chilliwack teachers were outside a private school today where the Premier was scheduled to attend an event.

President of the Chilliwack Teachers Association Katharin Midzain says after they set up shop on the sidewalk outsdie Unity Christian school, the Premier cancelled.

Midzain said “And I am surprised she would think that activitity was more important than being in Victoria when they are just introducing, and discussing and debating this legislation so that was a real shock to me it shows a lot of disrespect for teachers for the needs of teachers and the needs of public schools to be at a private school on such an important day.”

She says Christy Clark should have cancelled the event last week when teachers announced their job action would begin on Monday.
