Teacher-Librarian runs 22 marathons in 22 days in opposition of Bill 22

A North Vancouver teacher-librarian has completed 22 marathons in 22 days to protest the BC Government’s Bill 22.

Ian Cunliffe isn’t a fan of Bill 22.

In fact, he opposes it so much he ran over 900 kilometres in 22 days.

“The funding cuts we’ve experienced over the last decade have been so extreme it’s like strip mining public education. My kids would have been better off in a classroom 10 years ago.”

When asked if he backs BC Teachers Federation President Susan Lambert’s comments that outgoing Education Minister George Abbott used his office to attack teachers, Cunliffe said Lambert’s comments were understandable, but he wouldn’t be throwing anyone under the school bus.
