A 16-year old girl — visiting the Lower Mainland from Dawson Creek — is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV last night in Surrey.
RCMP Sgt. Murray Hedderson says the teen was jaywalking across Highway 10 near 180th Street — about 10:00 p.m. — when she was hit by a westbound SUV, “The young female was wearing dark clothing and there was very limited artificial lighting in the area where the collision occured. The roadway was wet at the time of the collision. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.”
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
