Trial set for man accused in Coquitlam crash that killed two children

The trial of a man who left Canada after being charged in a Coquitlam crash that killed two children will get underway on Monday.

It’s been almost four years after a crash killed nine-year-old Andrew Moeller and his six-year-old brother Matthew, and left their eight-year-old brother Karl paralyzed.

Now, the man accused of driving without due care and attention in the crash is going to trial, which is expected to last three days.

Ryan Miller was arrested last year at Vancouver international airport, after returning to Canada from Australia. The 30-year-old had been working there as a lawyer.

The maximum penalty he faces is six months in jail, while the minimum is a $ 100 fine.
