Two shots: one dead, another wounded

A female border guard is being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound received while on the job at the Blaine crossing. Her condition is know described as stable.
 
The man who shot her turned the gun on himself and died at the scene.
 
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken control of the case. They offer no information as to the shooters’ identity.

His van had Washington State license plates but it’s not known if the vehicle belonged to the gunman or whether he was an American citizen.
 
The crossing is not expected to reopen to traffic until at least 4 pm Wednesday.
