Two teens killed in Richmond crash

Two teenagers from Richmond are dead after a collision on Number 4 road, south of Steveston Highway.

RCMP Inspector Al Raimey says it happened at 3:00 a.m.

“Police and fire rescue attended and found the 4-door car that had failed to negotiate a left-hand turn and impacted a large tree on the passenger’s side.  The driver was taken to hospital, accompanied by police, for treatment of minor injuries.  Very tragically, two young men from Richmond were killed in the impact, aged 16 and 19 years.”

Names of the victims have not been released.

Speed — and possibly alcohol — were factors in the collision.
