The Vancouver Canucks are the NHL’s most overrated team, according to a Hockey Night in Canada survey of players.
The Canucks – who lost the Stanley Cup in Game 7 last year and sit second in the NHL standings – were voted the most overrated team by 24 per cent of the 318 players who responded to the survey.
The questions, which included things like which player had the hardest shot (Boston’s Zdeno Chara, 59 per cent) and which Canadian city most deserves an NHL franchise (Quebec City, 74 per cent) were written by Hockey Night in Canada and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA).
The Toronto Maple Leafs, at 18 per cent, was the second most overrated team, followed by the Washington Capitals at 15 per cent and the New York Rangers at 9 per cent.
