It wasn’t just a tragic fall by an elderly woman.
That’s what Vancouver police are saying about the city’s seventh homicide of the year.
“An 84 year old woman was critically injured inside an East Vancouver care home around 2pm yesterday afternoon.”
Constable Brian Montague says the 79-year old man accused of pushing the woman to the floor at an East Vancouver care home has been arrested, but no charges will be laid before his mental health can be assessed.
“That will definitely play a factor in the investigation. That’s something we’ll be looking at. It’ll form part of the investigation.”
Police are holding back all names, including the location of the care home.
