Vancouver police seek man wanted on attempted murder charge

Police in Vancouver say they need the public’s help to find a 54-year-old man wanted for attempted murder.

Officers are looking for Kenneth Kirton of Surrey, after a female relative of his was stabbed last night.

Police say the 73-year-old woman was stabbed several times around 3:30 a.m. at her home in the 15-hundred block of Adanac Street.

She’s now recovering in hospital.

Kirton is wanted for attempted murder, robbery and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Police say he is known to frequent the downtown eastside. 

He is aboriginal, 5’5” tall, with a thin build, short black hair, brown eyes and a scar on the bridge of his nose.

He also has a tattoo of the word “love” on his left fingers and was last seen wearing a black jacket.

Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach, and to call 9-1-1.
