Vigil to remember Devon Allaire-Bell

The one year anniversary of a young man’s murder will be marked with a vigil Wednesday evening.

Devon Allaire-Bell was playing soccer with a friend at Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey when the two had an altercation with a group of men and were stabbed.

The search for those responsible continues, “I’m totally, totally sure the RCMP, I-HIT will do their job. Now, whether the justice system does theirs is another story.”

Devon’s mother Cynthia says the family has chosen to hold the vigil one day after the anniversary of Devon’s death so it wouldn’t be held the same day as the birthday of Devon’s brother’s girlfriend.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team released video last July of five South Asian men believed to be responsible.

I-HIT says many tips came in after, but are asking that anyone with information, contact them.
