BC’s Multilculturalism Minister is side-stepping the question whether there is a conflict of interest in the investigation into the ethnic vote plan controversy.
Multi-culturalism Minister John Yap was asked repeatedly whether John Dyble, the Premier’s deputy minister and head of the public service, is in a conflict of interest, because he’ll be investigating his own boss.
Yap wouldn’t give a “yes” or “no”, only saying Dyble will the job done quickly.
“I’m confident, as my colleagues are, that he will be able to dispassionately and professionally get the job done in terms of carrying out the investigation”
Yap says the results of the investigation will be made public.
When asked why he is the one answering questions on this issue and not the Premier, Yap says he and Christy Clark are a team and he can’t speak for her schedule.
