Burke will be remembered as a phenomenal representative of her sport

Tragic news from the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association.
Sarah Burke passed away this morning in Utah, after what’s being called a “freak accident” during training last week.
Association CEO Peter Judge says Burke will be remembered for being a great representative for the sport.

“Sarah was a person who I think in many ways was larger than life and lived life to the fullest…she was a phenomenal representative of her sport and of young people in sport in general.”

The Squamish native is credited with helping get women’s free-style skiing included in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi Russia.
A website has been set up to help her husband pay for half a million dollars in medical bills for Burke’s treatment at the University of Utah hospital.
