Christy Clark in for a fight in Vancouver-Point Grey

It looks like you can pencil in the premier’s name onto the ballot for riding of Vancouver-Point Grey next provincial election.

Christy Clark initially said she didn’t know if she would run again in the riding after narrowly winning last year’s by-election

 but now…

“I am running in the next election and my plan is for sure to run in Vancouver Point Grey although don’t let the cat out of the bag I haven’t been nominated yet.”

BC Conservative party leader John Cummins says unlike the by-election the provincial ballot will be a three way fight.

“Yeah certainly we will have a candidate in that riding there is no question about it.”

Cummins says the riding is up for grabs in the spring election.

“Not only in that Point Grey riding but I think throughout the province there is going to be a seismic shift in voter intentions and I think that the Point Grey riding will be just a classic case of you know a three way fight it is probably anybody’s riding to win.”

Clark beat the NDP’s David Eby by four percentage points or about 600 votes in Vancouver-Point Grey.

But the conservatives took 25% of the vote in this year’s Chilliwack Hope by-election and 15% in Port Moody Coquitlam.
