Ferries union warns of poor morale

Ferries union warns of poor morale The Ferries and Marine Workers’ Union says while imrpovements have been made there are still lots of problems at BC Ferries – and people should be concerned. President of the Ships Officers component, Brett Joyce, says his members are suffering from dismal morale. He says he is not sure how to keep the price down for passengers while still maintaining a safe and efficient ferry system. “I think there are clouds on the horizon BC Ferries has been around for a long time BC Ferries has had its ups and downs I think we are in a very tough economic position the world is changing money is getting tighter everywhere the public is looking for a good service at a good price and I am not convinced the economy is going to allow us to do that.” Joyce adds the Macatee report further adds a layer of oversight causing confusion for his members about who exactly they work for.
