Friends and family remember killed girl

“Happy birthday” balloons lined the stage of a Maple Ridge church, as family and friends honour the life of a young woman killed in a head-on crash four days before her 19th birthday.
Friends described Crystal Weaver as a “old soul” who loved knitting, board games, so-called “granny sweaters” and dreamt about having 15 children.
Best friend Andrea Sitter…

“I’ve never met a more unique person… what a pleasure it has been being friends with you baby girl.”

The 16-year old who hit Crystal, Dawson Spencer, was also killed in the collision near Dewdney Trunk and Dunbar last weekend in Maple Tidge.
Police say the young man was violating his learner’s license restrictions, and may have been speeding when he crossed the centre lane.
